Actor Drake Bell, best known for his role on the popular Nickelodeon show “Drake & Josh,” was confirmed to be “safe” and in contact with law enforcement officials on Thursday afternoon. The Daytona Beach Police Department reported the news at 1:26 p.m. ET, following an earlier announcement that the actor was considered “missing and endangered.”

The initial Facebook post from the Daytona Beach Police Department on Thursday morning provided no further details on the situation, and both the police and Bell’s manager were not immediately available for comment when contacted by Variety.

In a surprising turn of events, Bell addressed the situation himself later that same day. The actor took to Twitter, joking about the misunderstanding, writing: “You leave your phone in the car and don’t answer for the night and this?” followed by a laughing emoji.

The original police report provided some information on Bell’s last known whereabouts. The actor, whose real name is Jared Drake Bell, was seen traveling in a 2022 gray BMW, and his last known location was potentially near Mainland High School on April 12, 2023, just before 9 p.m. Daytona Beach police had initially asked the public to provide any information regarding Bell’s whereabouts by contacting Detective Jayson Wallace at 386-671-5207.

Bell’s fans were undoubtedly relieved to hear of his safe status, as concerns grew during the short period when the actor was considered missing and endangered. Despite the seemingly lighthearted nature of the situation, the incident serves as a reminder of the importance of staying connected and communicating one’s whereabouts with loved ones.

Drake Bell rose to fame as one half of the titular duo in “Drake & Josh,” which aired on Nickelodeon from 2004 to 2007. Since then, Bell has continued to work in the entertainment industry, making appearances in television shows, movies, and focusing on his music career.
